Boss LADY Jessica

Name: Jessica
Where do you live: Canada, Ontario
Child(s) Name & Age(s): Dustin James (5 months old, 6 months as of March 1st)
Whats your favorite thing about bein a mom?: Seeing my baby grow up, watching him learn everything that I take for granted. Showing him off to everyone, because he is adorable. lol. Watching him sleep. Holding him. Teaching him how to do things.
Whats your least favorite thing about being a mom?: Teething and when he gets so fussy and I no longer know what to do. :(
Tell us something unique about you: Unique? Oh wow, I have sat here, and nothing comes to mind? That's horrible. I have 6 tattoo's, will be getting 2 more after I am done breastfeeding.
Tell us why your kid is the bomb.com: Dustin is definitely the "bomb.com" because he is the cutest baby in the world. ;) lol. His little personality is so much like his parents it's crazy and he is only 5 months old. He makes me the most proud mother ever!
One of your favorite "remedies/ or tricks of the trade"(for gas, teething, sleep,ANYTHING): Oh gosh. Call grandma. :) She fixes everything for me. For teething? What works so far for Dustin, is frozen teething rings, my fingers/arm/hand and is that doesn't work Tylenol (even though I don't like giving that to him often). Right now, I am more into finding out good remedies for everything!
your blog: dramaticmama
How does it feel to be a boss lady?: Stressful. Cleaning, looking after the babes, and my man, feels GREAT because they need me, but it can be stressful, especially when I have outbursts of depression quite frequently. I love being important and needed though! :)

thanks Jess, little D is so cute!

Teething!!!!!!

pimp myspace

Teething is not only rocking Peej's world but my world too!
Shes up at all hours of the night, hands in her mouth chewing on her fingers all day long, not eating very well, her nose is leaking like a faucet.... its honestly terrible! She refuses to suck or chew on a frozen wash cloth, throw any teething rings I give her, doesnt respond well with tablets...I ordered a amber teething bracelet to see if that helps at all, has anyone used one? did it work? any other tips for an "extreme teether"????
Peej literally at 1 year of age has ZERO teeth. so this is a HUGE deal!!!!

Dear tooth fairy we both would appreciate some teeth soon!

Toddler MUST haves

Now that Peej is 1 and is sadly considered a toddler, I wanted to share our picks for MUST HAVES! There is so much junk when it comes to babies/kids, and when it comes to owning a baby boutique I literally get to see it ALL! So with weeding out most of the junk heres my top picks:

1. The Lobster High chair by Phil & Teds. Everywhere we go I always have my lobster, and its sooo convenient! Pella is so small she swims in the wooden highchairs most restaurants have to offer, this is comfortable & clamps onto most every table!
2. Safe Sippy Cup, why we love it? Well Pella doesn't quite understand tilting the cup Upwards to get the water/milk out but she completely understands how to suck from a straw, this sippy does BOTH! and its stainless steel, and no spill!

3. Table Toppers Disposable placemats. I dont think I need to go into why these are awesome!
theres nothing worse then having to shred up what I eat for Pella to snack on a bare table top!
these are lifesavers and fun for her to look at too. these plastic placemats have adhesive strips on all 4 sides to stick onto the table to prevent the beastly child from tossing it off the table.

4. Boogie Wipes. because what kid doesnt have a runny nose almost 365 days a year!?!?
These smell good, taste good and are made up of saline so its gentle on the face and nose...there is nothing worse then having a chapped nosed and mouthed baby!

5. Green Toys baby Flatware
I dont know about your kid, but mine demands to do everything herself! so when it comes to feeding, she wants to fork her own mac and cheese! these are great bc they are not only eco-friendly but they are small and compact easy for toddlers to grasp and hold. most of the time I just let Pella hold her little fork while I spoon feed her, a little trick of the trade when it comes to feeding a honorary child

6. Uppa baby G-LUXE stroller
I love love this stroller, its Super light weight, Peej thinks shes super cool in it!
It reclines and has a cup holder for me! I am so over lugging around a big ass stroller, and I have truck space in my car!!!!

Boss Lady Jazmyn

Name: Jazmyn
Where do you live: Chino Hills, CA
Child(s) Name & Age(s): Alyson & 5 months
Whats your favorite thing about being a mom?: Just the feeling of knowing that when she knows love that she'll always love me no matter what. Wow that sounded cheesy once I read that but its the truth haha!
Whats your least favorite thing about being a mom?: Being up early!!! I'm not a morning person at all and I'm in the worst mood if I'm up too early. Thankfully her dad lets me sleep in an extra hour or so. Oh and blowouts, that's the worst lol.
Tell us something unique about you: I have an extreme passion for animals and for some reason no matter how mean someone says their pet is to other people, they always love me. I'm like the pet whisperer or something!
Tell us why your kid is the bomb.com: Because, she is drop dead gorgeous! Haha, but really she has one fierce attitude for a baby. Especially the looks she gives people she doesn't know!
One of your favorite "remedies/ or tricks of the trade"(for gas, teething, sleep,ANYTHING): That musical seahorse everyone loves. Seriously, it helps in almost all situations! Also for her to be a happy baby, we absolutely have to keep to her nap routine or all hell breaks loose! Especially when bedtime rolls around.

The Paper Mama

Losing my COOL. & Music Monday

Im losing my cool. Its been 2 solid weeks of close to no sleep!
My child has been SCREAMING BLOODY MURDER, night in and night out. Let me start off with saying the first thing that came to mind is TEETH! HOLY SHIT Peej is getting her first tooth!!!! here we are 3 weeks later NO teeth yet, but still interrupted sleep! I took her to the DR. 3 times in a course of a week, to have her ears checked for an infection, NO sign of an infection Im told by my DR., Okay.....so what the fuck is going on!??? The 3rd time I took her into the Dr was because I noticed both ears having discharge coming from them, took her in, still no sign of infection, but she was put on anti-biotics
being treated for an "inner ear infection" an infection that apparently couldn't be seen by the naked eye! ok, so fast forward ONE week from that Dr. visit, and treating her with anti-biotics I am NOT seeing an improvement in her nights sleep, its sooo bad, literally up every 1.5/2 hours, SCREAMING! Am I being too impatient? How long does this ear infection business last!? as for teething goes, I dont feel any bumps or inflammation.... neither did her DR, even though I am aware some babies show no visible signs while teething.
I make sure she's fed and full through out the day, so she's not hungry... and at this point im EXHAUSTED!!! I had a baby who slept 12 hours SOLID 3 weeks ago! gonna call the dr again tomorrow! ughhh babies! this whole parenting thing is TOUGH STUFF.

LOVE.

I Love Peejs "CRANKY PANTS"
She definitely needed these yesterday bc DAMNNN this little baby was sooo constipated and cranky! It breaks my heart one year later, her constipation and pooping is still a force to be reckoned with! Ive tried it all, I guess we will just have to wait it and out and hope she'll out grow it sooner then LATER!

Steppin Out....
I know its not a CRISP photo of my ensemble, the iphone cam, mixed with the flash, mixed with the rain this pic was destined to be blurry! but lets rejoice because I got a tri-pod and I can finally hopefully be up to par with some "steppin out" post!

Pea-coat: H&M
Dress (underneath): Tucker
Tights: American Apparel
Shooz: Jeffery Campbell
and that mustard thing is my wallet from non other, TARGET.

Teen Moms

IM SAYING IT.
this is why AMERICA, Teen Pregnancy shouldnt be glorified on these Tv shows, and these kids need a f@&*%! EDUCATION! Oh wait, the states keep cutting all the schools funding.

But I cant help but giggle a little, how sweet he seems like a legit "soon to be BD."

Guest Post-"MAMA SAID"

Here is a Guest Post I did for one of my favorite, newly turned mama blogger, Danielle over at "Sometimes Sweet". I think its a such a fabulous idea, to see what advice and tricks of the trade all these mommies have! Keep up the good work Danielle!

Hello! My name is Marcella, I am YES, a single working mama. To some, I'd be your "typical" tattooed white trash single mom who got knocked up by the milkman, but that is far FROM who I really am. I have a newly 1 year old daughter Pella James, who is my mini me! I was born and raised in Ventura County California, ventured off to Downtown Los Angeles for a year, and now am back in Ventura County.

I own a modern baby boutique, called DROOL, have a couple blogs I try and keep up with, and holding down a fort with 2 french bulldogs and a baby!

Anyways, heres my mama says!

Single Parenting HAPPENS! ...and when I say that I mean that! We all as women, track down the "ONE" the man we are determined to spend the rest of our lives with, grow old with, and YUP, reproduce with!

But for some of us, the pretty picture we paint in our heads with this "family" doesn't always end up working out as we imagined it too! You can spend years with someone (like I did, 6.5 to be exact) and things CAN change.

I see women everyday staying with these guys who do not benefit them at all because of the fear of being a "single parent". Well guess what, Single parenting happens! People everyday make the best of it, co-parenting, or NOT co-parenting and STILL raise happy, healthy and beautiful children! Its DOABLE! Women are strong, and powerful beings! I wish every woman who has doubts or is having a hard time accepting being a single parent could know that it happens and YES we may envy all these cute little families we see all over, but we still are capable of being AMAZING Mama's!

Roll with the Punches. Single parenting can be EXTREMELY CHALLENGING, probably one of the HARDEST things ever, its you and baby and or kid ALL DAY, EVERYDAY. When us single parents need a break, its not often we are able to get that break we need! It can be exhausting, and sometimes feel like a black cloud is hovering over us...I the same could go for every and any mama, things happen, our babies get sick, baby has a poop blow out in the car and we "forgot the diaper bag!", baby vomits all in our hair, baby falls down and gets a boo-boo,we the mama god forbid GETS SICK!, bad things happen all the time, you just gotta roll with the punches!

LAUGH! Laughing is so very important to us mamas! We have to find humor in some of things that we could never bare to "laugh at". Laughing makes us feel good, and feel happy. Being happy is a key component to being raising a happy baby!

I went through hell the first 4 months of my daughters life, I had anger, resentment, stress, sleep deprivation, and postpartum depression. There were moments I should have laughed at or found humor, and excitement in that I just couldnt! We all go through tough times, we all have moments when all we want to scream in a pillow or break down and cry! If we could just get a good LAUGH!
